RANDY W. MILLER NAMED PMAR 2002 REALTOR OF THE YEAR
On Thursday October 3rd the Pocono Mountains
Association of REALTORS held their Annual Installation of Officers and Past Presidents
Dinner. At that meeting the officers of the new Association were officially given their
oath of office by PAR outgoing President Mary Jo Kelly. Of special interest to the readers
of this EBA update was the installation of Randy W. Miller, President of The Buyer’s
Agent of the Poconos Realty, for another term as Director of the Association.
Miller’s installation was for a term of 2 years, which represents a new Association
policy that the top 4 recipients of member votes were appointed to 2-year terms (rather
than 1 year) to promote a staggered transition for Directors. Miller was the second
highest in number of votes missing a tie for 1st by 1 vote. As an EBA Millers
partners Rick and Terri Kerr state that this alone is an accomplishment to be proud of in
a Large Association/Board (PAR membership of
700-1,499)
In addition at the meeting, Randy was named REALTOR of the Year by the Association for 2002 in honor of the distinguished and unselfish service given while serving with outstanding leadership vision and ability (as noted on the award). In his efforts to promote the consumers best interests in the real estate market He has served as Chair of the Member Services Committee, Director of the Association, and the Professional Standards Committee in addition to other task forces, production and participation of a well received seminar on "Negotiating with a Short Sale" and duties ranging from technology to membership standards.
On October 23rd Terri Kerr partner of The Buyer’s Agent of the Poconos will be recognized at a Dinner held at the Hillside Inn and Resort in Marshalls Creek PA. Terri will be receiving the “Lemonade Award” from P.A.T.H. The Pocono Area Transitional Housing Program. Terri is being recognized for her transition from being a recipient of the PATH Services for herself as a single mother with 3 children and has since established herself as a partner and Administrative Manager of the successful Exclusive Buyer Agency real estate firm – The Buyer’s Agent of the Poconos Realty with her husband Rick and Randy Miller. Her award symbolizes her desire and abilities to as the saying goes to “Turn Lemons into Lemonade”. Through the strong support and commitment given to PATH through the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS and Terri’s continued support (personally and as a REALTOR) of the local organization has helped PATH become a respected and viable area resource for families experiencing domestic distress.
